Apiary Inspection:
Tony Lack was the lead beekeeper for the inspection on Saturday. We welcomed many new beekeepers and formed smaller groups for a focused introduction to hive inspections. The sessions covered valuable techniques and what to watch for during hive checks.

- Queen cell: we had a charged queen cell in hive 2. The queen was relocated to a nuc box (3) along with two frames of established brood (ELB) and some food stores.
- Hive maintenance: We also initiated a Bailey comb change on hive 9.
- Nucs get upgraded: The two nucs destined for the beekeeping nurturing initiative were transitioned into full-sized hives. These hives will be split once the colonies are well-established.
- Positive experience: Overall, the members thoroughly enjoyed the informative and hands-on inspections.
