Our lead beekeeper, Kevin, led a public inspection event this weekend. We had an excellent turnout, with several attendees interested in joining the club. While Kevin engaged with the public, our members also showed up in good numbers, allowing us to form pairs and efficiently conduct the inspections.
During the inspection, we identified that some colonies were low on stores. To address this, we took immediate action and decided to provide 1:1 syrup to those with no reserves. Our ongoing swarm management, primarily utilising the Demaree split method, is progressing well. We are optimistic that a few virgin queens will embark on their mating flights this week and begin laying eggs soon!
