Even though we had scattered rain showers throughout the day, the team still managed to perform some quick inspections on the hives. Thank you to everyone who helped despite the less-than-ideal weather.
As part of the afternoon’s activities, John also kindly gave a demonstration on queen marking and clipping. He explained not only the techniques involved but also the benefits of marking and clipping queens — from easier hive management to helping prevent swarming. John also shared the timings he likes to stick to during the season to ensure queens are marked and clipped at the right stage for colony health and stability.
