Apiary Inspection:

The inspection was moved earlier due to the weather, and we nearly completed inspecting all the hives before the heavy rain began. Hive 8 showed signs of preparing to swarm, so Tony, the lead beekeeper, implemented some swarm management techniques. We discovered many capped queen cells and used some of these for grafting onto the queenless nucs created during artificial splits for the new beekeeper’s initiative, as they were superior to the ones the bees had produced. Hopefully, by the next inspection, we will have some virgin queens in these colonies.
